I am a mighty pirate, but I am also buying games from Steam now[80 bucks so far]. You know how you get me to buy things? Make things cheap and easy. I am frugal and lazy. Steam makes things easy for managing games [updates and library organization]. Steam also certainly provide games on the cheap.
But, let me tell a story: About 3 months ago I decided it was the day to buy some games on Steam. I bought Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Payday 2, and Witcher 1&2[Have to say that I bought Witcher 1/2 before I even knew there was a Witcher 3 coming out].
I had roughly $0.35 left in my Steam wallet. This was a Wednesday or Thursday. Guess what was put on sale that weekend for the week. Civilization V: Complete Edition for $12.50. I could not believe it. Every single shred of DLC and the base game for $12.50.
I did not have that money laying around [college student that needs to eat] so I figured I would have to wait approximately a month until it came back on sale. I figured I could find the money in that timeline. Well, the game doesnt go on sale again in a month; it goes on sale again in a WEEK. It took me ~1 month to find the money, as I figured it would. I have been checking the Steam store EVERY SINGLE DAY since then[I dont trust Steam Wishlist to notify me, it misses sales sometimes].
It should be mentioned that SoF2 is a VERY mature game, with lots of gore and sensitive themes like terrorism and biological warfare. But it's certainly worth noting. While the gore levels can be adjusted (and even password-protected), things can get really ugly at the highest levels -- a shotgun at point-blank range can take someone's head clear off, bodies slumping to the floor, convulsing in a pool of blood. Voice acting is also well done, with lots of chatter from Mullins and professional talent handling many of the other characters. Soldier of fortune 2 gold edition torrent download pc. Should that stop you -- or encourage you -- when deciding to buy the game?
I told myself and my friends that I would not buy another game on Steam until Civ V comes back on sale. Since then, I have passed on decent and good deals on other games because I know it would be my luck that Civ 5 would go on sale right after I blow my money on another game. So, as I am writing this, I am downloading Civ 5 GOTY from TPB because I got tired of waiting[2.5 months or so].
I do not know if I will be able to convince myself to buy it when it goes on sale once my download completes and is installed. Like I said, Reddit, I am a mighty pirate, but I am trying. • Offline mode works, but only for a few weeks. After that it just suddenly stops working and you are forced to connect to the internet. I've been the victim of this myself. Let me tell you, when you can't get online for several weeks you really want your offline single player games to function. • Torrents go dead all the time.
There are many games you can't find reliable torrents for today. When a game is newer the number of seeders is greater. Disk space is cheap as hell. Obviously you're free to take your chances but back ups are a good thing for more than just your games.
It's worth investing in an external USB drive. Installers and ISO files typically take up less space than the games installed by steam by several GBs. Aside from it being mentioned nowhere official: Steam does NOT have control of the licenses of 99% of the games on the marketplace[Only games like Half-Life, Portal, etc]. Steam has DRM for 2 reasons: So people still buy their games instead of getting it from a friend AND to continue having permission from the rights holders to issue game licenses for the same reason. Technically MONEY is the 1 true reason, but it has its subreasons that apply here. Even in the end, the decision to release permanent keys would ultimately rest with the game publishers themselves, not Valve. Some might, some might not.
